Just a couple additional comments regarding the survey...The Marlins team store does not ship...i could imagine how many more sales they would make for the teal hats, the Sky Carp, Wahoos, and Jumbo Shrimp all ship...but the parent team does not. And regarding giveaways, the Astros are giving away an Orbit (mascot) bobblehead away today, Ill guarantee they give them all out before first pitch, probably in the first hour the gates are open.

Team store policies aren’t my area of expertise, but I am almost 100 percent certain of this:

It’s an MLB-wide policy that if you want something shipped, you have to purchase through MLB.com. The reason for that is teams keep 100 percent of revenue from sales at their team store, but online shopping is shared among the 30 clubs.

So if someone goes to the Yankees’ web site and buys a jersey, every club gets a cut of that. If they buy it at Yankee Stadium, that money stays with the Yankees.

Teams like the Marlins come out ahead financially through this.

After reading this, one thing that surprised me was that barely any people said that the pitching matchup is their most likely factor to determine if they go to a game. I usually try to avoid going to games where a guy like Hoeing, Castano, Smeltzer, etc is pitching. I try to go to as many Luzardo or Sandy games as I possibly can, and it depends on different factors if I will go down to loanDepot to watch a Rogers, Cabrera, or Garrett start. I think the biggest reason right now that the Marlins don't draw well on a nightly basis outside of the team not being consistently competitive is the location. A majority of our fanbase lives north of Fort Lauderdale, and a good majority of the fans that live north of Fort Lauderdale live in cities like Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Parkland, Delray Beach, Boyton Beach, and West Palm Beach. If the Marlins had a stadium in Broward or PBC like what the Florida Panthers have, attendance would be better, especially on weeknights. Fans in the Broward or Palm Beach area like my Dad & I have no problem driving an hour down to the park on a Friday night, Sunday afternoon, or a Saturday late-afternoon game, but is extremely hard to go on a school/work night.

I would think Sandy should be a draw for some. In some markets, having a Scherzer or a Kershaw or someone like that pitching against the home team is also a draw. That’s really never been the case here.

I don’t live in Miami anymore so I can’t attend games. When I lived there, I went to about 10 games a year (working a night schedule didn’t help). Nothing beats the teal uniforms!

I usually don't live in Florida during the summer. Even so, from Jacksonville, I usually have at least a couple of road trips to Miami. My LD experiences are quite good, including value, concessions, park enjoyment, parking, value, and overall atmosphere. I would be a season ticket holder if I lived in South Florida. Definitely agree that the roof removes weather uncertainty as a road trip planning factor. I don't follow basketball or football, so my financial support is nearly all baseball-related.

Spring training blues would have been an interesting 6th option for favorite uniform. Guessing it would have polled second after the throwbacks

It’s neither here nor there, but, technically, they’d tell you the spring jerseys are “Miami blue,” which isn’t old-school teal. They’re part of the Jeter-era uniforms, not at all a nod to the past.

I didn’t include them in the survey since I’m only able to give 5 options, and I went with the 5 they actually wear in regular season games.
