Obviously the expanded playoffs are motivated by 3 things: money, money and money.

But I think you could make a compelling argument that it’s far too much. A full month of games. Even when you get down to the final 4, if you’re a real die-hard who wants to watch as much as possible, it’s one late night after another after another.

Maybe the pitch clock will help, but too many post-season games have gone so late in recent years that it has made what should be the most enjoyable times of the year often feel like a grind.

I was in the erring majority. I suppose we are back to the questions about rust versus hot teams as baseball enters the next round. My interest is exhausted and, if I watch at all, it will be simply background. The only remaining cursory desire is for the Brewers or Rangers to win the championship. This encompasses a defeat of the perennial regular season top teams, big spenders, and ends the drought for a team without a WS title, even though the Rangers have joined the high payroll teams.
